After School Clubs
At St Bartholomew's we strive to give children the best experiences in school, just because school ends at 3.15 doesn't mean that our students don't continue learning and enjoying themselves. We offer a rich and diverse range of extracurricular activities for all ages. We take on any suggestions from parents or students for more clubs and each term we try to add or change around any clubs to fit with the seasons or popular demand.
Our latest Clubs for the Autumn Term 2018:
All clubs run from 3.15pm to 4.15pm with the exception of Gymnastics as noted on the table.
Change 4 Life
Is a club which involves all aspects of healthy living, from a variety of different sports, fund raising, festivals, trips, ICT activities all based on the themes of healthy-living. Every other week the children will prepare, cook and present a healthy meal with our school Chef Jill whilst every alternate week the children will learn new sports like Boccia, New Age Kurling, organise/have their own festivals and attend trips which they have fundraised for.
Megan Yates - Dance Club
This is a new and exciting club which is going to be led by a qualified dance instructor, who completed 4 workshops for the whole of Key Stage 2 back in June this year. Megan can teach tap dance, modern and street dance. This is a club where there will be a numerous chances to learn new dances and routines whilst creating your own motives and chances to perform in front of an audience.
Tag Rugby - Ed Osborn
We have our very own Tag Rugby coach working in Early Years, Ed has been a member of Stourport Rugby Club for several years and is a keen rugby player. Those who join the club will have lots of chances to train and be coached the rules of the games in readiness for the Tag Rugby Festivals running across the School Sports Programme.
This will be chance to grow your own vegetables and plants to take home, once they are ready. To help and maintain the school gardens and enter gardening competitions across the Academy and Community. It will involve gaining sponsorship from gardening retailers and working towards Gardening Awards for the school. We would also like to have our own St. Bartholomew's Flower Show just like the legendary Chelsea Show.
Will be played by official Dodgeball rules, where tactics and strategy will be the name of the game. This club will be run both indoors and outdoors depending on the weather. The children will be expected to learn the rules, apply them and then create and run their own dodgeball league of games in readiness for the School Sports Festival.
Come and join the Greatest Show!
If you enjoy singing, dancing, actions and playing games and most of all having fun then come and join us.
Drama will encourage you to express yourself, build your confidence, explore the world around you and make you fantastic communicators all in a safe, supportive and fun environment.
Gymnastics and Football
Both of these clubs will be run by Foundation Sport Worcester. Steve has been running some of our clubs now for 2 years, the most popular of which has been the football club. He is a fully qualified level 3 football coach and joining us to run our Gymnastics club this term is Sophie who is a GB level gymnast. She is very kindly stepping in until Linsay Hall returns from maternity leave.
